Online PPTX Viewer

Choose a .pptx file and see its slides on this page, one at a time, without PowerPoint. The slides are drawn in your browser and the tool does not upload your file. It is view-only: you cannot edit, select or copy text, and the result may differ from what PowerPoint shows.

Choose a PowerPoint (.pptx) file to preview

Accepts .pptx files only

Your file is rendered in your browser and is not uploaded by this tool.

Why use this tool?

Why use this tool?

Sometimes you only need to look at a deck: on a shared computer, a Chromebook, or a device without Office. Installing software or converting the file first is more work than the job deserves. This viewer lets you open the file, flip through the slides and decide whether you need to open it properly.

How to use it

How to use it

  1. Step 1

    Choose your file

Click the file picker and select a .pptx file from your device.
  2. Step 2

Wait for the slides to render

The viewer loads its scripts and draws the first slide. A loading message shows until it is ready.
  3. Step 3

    Move through the slides

Use Previous and Next to step through the deck one slide at a time.
  4. Step 4

    Open another file

Click Reset to clear the current file and choose a different one.

How the viewer shows your slides

When you pick a file, the page first loads three scripts from the jsDelivr CDN: JSZip, Chart.js and PptxViewJS. These are the viewer’s own code, not your file. The renderer then opens the .pptx in your browser and draws the first slide on a canvas. The canvas is sized to the width of the viewing area with a 16:9 shape. Previous and Next ask the renderer to draw the neighbouring slide.

View only, not an editor

The slide is a picture on a canvas, so you cannot select text, copy it or change anything. The only controls are Previous, Next and Reset. There is no slide counter, no thumbnail list, no zoom and no full-screen mode, so you cannot jump to a specific slide. If you need the text itself, a text extractor or a Word conversion tool is a better fit.

What may look different

The slides are drawn by a third-party browser renderer, not by PowerPoint, so fonts, charts, SmartArt and special effects may not match the original. The page does not play animations, transitions, audio or video, and it does not show speaker notes. Because the canvas is fixed at 16:9, decks with another slide shape may look different. Treat it as a quick preview and open the original in PowerPoint when exact appearance matters.

An internet connection is needed to start

Because the viewer scripts come from a CDN, the page needs to reach cdn.jsdelivr.net when you open a file. If that address is blocked, for example by a strict network or an extension, the viewer cannot start and shows an error such as "Failed to load script". Once the scripts are loaded, your file is read locally.

Features explained

Open a .pptx from your device

Use the file picker to choose a presentation. Only files whose names end in .pptx are accepted, and the tool takes one file at a time. There is no drag-and-drop area.

Slides drawn on a canvas

Each slide is rendered on a canvas that fits the width of the viewing area at a 16:9 ratio. A "Rendering PPTX Slides..." message appears while the viewer loads and draws the first slide.

Previous and Next buttons

Step through the deck one slide at a time. There is no slide number shown, so keep track of where you are yourself.

Reset to open another file

Reset clears the current file and returns to the file picker so you can choose a different presentation.

Error messages

If the file is not a .pptx, or the viewer cannot load or render the file, a message appears below the viewer. These messages are shown in English.

What can you use it for?

Checking an emailed deck

Open an attachment on a computer or phone that has no PowerPoint, just to see what is in it.

Previewing before you edit or convert

Make sure you have the right file before you open it in an editor or run a conversion.

Reading slides on a shared or restricted computer

View a presentation without installing anything on a library, school or office machine.

Benefits

  • Nothing to install and no sign-in step.
  • Your file is not uploaded by this tool.
  • Quick way to check what a deck contains before opening it elsewhere.
  • Works from a browser tab on devices without PowerPoint.

Limitations

  • View-only: no editing, no text selection or copying, and no download.
  • Rendering is done by a third-party library, so fonts, charts, SmartArt and effects may differ from PowerPoint.
  • Animations, transitions, audio, video and speaker notes are not shown.
  • The canvas is fixed at 16:9, so other slide shapes may look different.
  • No slide counter, thumbnails, zoom or full-screen mode.
  • Needs access to cdn.jsdelivr.net to start, so it does not work offline.
  • Only .pptx files, one at a time. Older .ppt and password-protected files are not supported.
  • There is no size limit and no progress bar. Large decks can take a while and may slow the page.

What the tool checks

The tool only checks that the file name ends in .pptx. It does not check the file size or scan the content. It cannot open password-protected presentations, and it relies on third-party scripts loaded from a CDN to do the rendering.

Privacy

The tool reads your presentation in your browser and does not send it to a server. The viewer’s scripts are fetched from the jsDelivr CDN when you open a file, which means your browser contacts that service to get them; your file is not part of that request. Other scripts on the site, such as analytics or ads, are not part of this tool.

Tips

  • Keep count of the slides yourself, since no slide number is shown.
  • If nothing loads, check that your network or an extension is not blocking cdn.jsdelivr.net.
  • Save an older .ppt as .pptx in PowerPoint before using the viewer.
  • For exact appearance, open the original file in PowerPoint.

Frequently asked questions

Is this viewer free?

Yes. The tool has no sign-in or payment step.

Is my presentation uploaded to a server?

Not by this tool. Your file is read in your browser. The viewer’s own scripts are downloaded from the jsDelivr CDN, but your file is not sent with that request.

Does it work without an internet connection?

No. The page needs to load three scripts from cdn.jsdelivr.net when you open a file, so it cannot start offline or on a network that blocks that address.

Can I edit the slides or copy the text?

No. The slides are drawn on a canvas, so this is view-only. Use PowerPoint, Google Slides or a text extraction tool if you need to change or copy content.

Will the slides look exactly like they do in PowerPoint?

Not always. A third-party renderer draws them, so fonts, charts, SmartArt and effects may differ, and animations, transitions, media and notes are not shown. Check the original in PowerPoint when appearance matters.

Does it support .ppt files or password-protected presentations?

No. Only .pptx files are accepted, and password-protected presentations are not supported.

Is there a file size limit?

The tool code sets no limit. Large decks with many images take longer and use more memory on your device, and there is no progress bar, only a loading message.

Can I jump to a particular slide?

No. You can only go forward and back one slide at a time with Next and Previous, and the page does not show a slide number.

Does it work on a phone?

The canvas adjusts to the width of the screen, so it can be used on narrow screens, but this has not been specifically tested. Large decks may be slow on older phones.
